THE INDESCRIBABLE MAN – DO YOU KNOW HIM?

(Video by Albert Martin)

What would you give a man that saved your life? What would he ask of you? What if that man only wanted to love you and for you to love Him? Can you fathom such as man? No, you cannot. There are no words that can describe Him. He is truly indescribable. But His love for you can be defined with one word:

EVERLASTING.

We should get to know Him. There’ll never be another so indescribable.

AND THE WINNER IS!

TOO LATE

I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to have found such a good man to spend the rest of my life with. My sinful, criminal past threatening to come back and haunt me, but I wouldn’t let it ruin it anymore, if I could help it.

On a wonderful, frosty morning, the love of my life proposed during breakfast, giving me the dreams I always wished and wanted. He made my life worthwhile, and without hesitation I agreed to be his wife. Finally the things the other people took for granted were going to be mine.

Against all my wishes, he had to go to work; I walked with him not wanting to let his hand go. I knew that as soon as he left my side I would miss him. It terrified me that if he wasn’t next to me something terrible would happen and my fragile bliss would break.

I kissed him fervently, lingering in his arms as I brushed the paranoid thoughts of my mind; letting go of him reluctantly. He walked away from me, smiling; his beautiful blue eyes twinkling with mischief, his cheeks rosy; either from my kiss or from the cold wind.

As soon as he started to cross the road, I saw it at the corner of my eye. It was my Judgment day,  red car sped on the icy road, going over the speed limit. The driver lost control of the wheel and it skidded towards him. As my heart stopped, his athletic body flew in the air like a ragdoll, slamming against the concrete floor.

I ran towards him, my legs full of lead as the driver left unharmed. My knees gave away at the side walk, right beside him as my happiness and my only wish were ripped away from me.

STEPHEN KING: The Master Time-Waster

Stephen King

Stephen King is not a good author. Stephen King is a terrible author. Stephen King is long-winded, repetitive, and most of all, selfish.

When you read a book, you want to enjoy it. Savor it. Learn something new, appreciate life more.

And you know what’s so special about books? They can make you appreciate life more, without taking your life away.

When confronted with a 500, 700, and with Under the Dome, a 1088 page novel, how can you learn to experience life when you spend all of it reading someone else’s novel?

Hey. Maybe I want to spend all my time reading, you say.

What if the novel sucks?

If you read one Stephen King book, you’ve read them all. A crime, some paranormal horror story, sex, murder, drama…then a weak twist at the end that’s supposed to make you feel like you’ve read a good story.

However, I do believe Mr. King can be a talented writer. Among the trash he has offered through the years, only one pearl stands: Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, a story that has not only entertained, but has revealed great insights about life and humanity. Oh, but after the popular, empty pages that carry such names as The Long Walk, The Stand, and Christine, King became an puppet for modern audiences worthless appetites for commercialized “literature.”

But King is not the only one. It’s a trend – a virus – quickly spreading throughout authors today who pump out large amounts of garbage, not taking in account the lives of 90% of their readers: hard-workers who are trying to live their own lives, who wish to enjoy good literature…not lazy words on a page. Too many pages.

People don’t have time or the desire to inflate your already overinflated ego, Mr. King.

Life: As Fragile As Dust is a much better novel than Stephen King will ever write. Tight, powerful prose that gets straight to the point, and leaves an impact more than the bubblegum fiction of most of today’s authors. Do yourself an extreme favor, and read Life: As Fragile As Dust.

YOUR LIFE

Gordon Parks

Gordon Parks, the famous Life Magazine photographer, composer, and film maker once said, “I think people can do a whole awful lot more if they just try.”

Powerful words from a powerful man.

When I read his quote, I asked myself, what about your life, Paul? What are doing to really make a difference?  Sure, I’m busy, just like everyone else. But how long was I going let my life go on without fulfilling what I truly wanted to do?

For too long I allowed my goals to be pinned up, pushed back, and put on the back burner. NO MORE!

According to Parks, the reason why people don’t do more is because “they just don’t have the confidence that they can write a novel, or they can write poetry, or they can take pictures, or paint, or whatever, and so they don’t do it.”

Wow! After reading that, I began my lifelong dream to publish my novel, LIFE: AS FRAGILE AS DUST, which I did this year. Bitten hard by the bug of effort, I invented a new board game. This year, I trademarked numerous phrases and started an office supplies and T-shirt business and we produced a short film.

If I hadn’t done this, I would have continued to put my life on hold. And I would have, as Mr. Parks said, been one of the many people who “leave the planet dissatisfied with themselves.”

For our GOOD FRIDAY, start the dream that burns in your heart today. We need your paintings, your novels, your inventions, your poems, your view of the universe.

Your life matters. I believe it and so must you. And as always, keep your head up.

FORGIVE YOURSELF

We are taught to forgive others, but rarely are we taught to forgive ourselves. No one can force you to forgive yourself; you always have the right to do so.

In our last post SOMEWHERE IN THE DARK, we encountered a flesh- eater. And just like that tiny creature, which slips in and causes damage to our physical body, we let the power of unforgivingness sink deep in our hearts and eat away at us with the same destructive results.

In not forgiving yourself, you stand to lose more than just an extremity. Your entire life is in jeopardy.

Case in point: A woman I knew many years ago led a life of debauchery. She experimented with drugs, had multiple sex partners and most of her seven children had different fathers. After living many years like this, growing older and starting to watch her children become like her, she took her life. Unable to forgive herself and seek the help she so badly needed so she could make the necessary changes, she thought death was the better choice.

We all are damaged. We all make mistakes and do things we regret. Just like that fence post, we have many holes in our lives. And no matter how much wood filler, sanding, and staining that fence post gets, it will always be damaged. So it is with all of us. No matter how much we cover up our flaws, the scars of our painful memories remain. And that’s okay, as long as we can face them, better ourselves the best we can, and then move on from there. We have to forgive ourselves to heal our hurt.

I hope every one of us learns to forgive ourselves and others from the heart. Don’t let your past rob you of the person you are today. On our GOOD FRIDAY, look into the mirror and say, I forgive you. Keep striving, keep hoping, and keep changing for the better. And as always, keep your head up.

Life: As Fragile As Dust

Image

A very wise man once asked this question: “What is our life? Our life is like the morning mist – it is here a little while, then its gone.”

To what shall I compare our fragile life?

Life is like a speck of dust that alights upon a surface. It remains there, unmoved, until a draft threatens it. When a breeze comes, it holds on till the last. Finally, a gust of wind, and it is blown asunder. That is how fragile life is, like a speck of dust blown to nothingness.

Life: As Fragile As Dust, Book one of a three part series, is twelve short stories of people living on life’s edge and in a pfft, their lives change.

I value life. I understand how delicate it is. That’s why I write stories. To encourage others to take a closer look at the gift of life the Father has given us.

I invite you to get your copy. And remember: cherish those you love while life is still here.
